Broken Bow American Legion Baseball Teams Take 2 from Gothenburg

The Broken Bow American Legion baseball teams hosted Gothenburg Thursday night for a Juniors and Seniors doubleheader at Paul Brown Field.

The Juniors picked up their 6th win of the season with a 13-3 win. Bow scored 8 runs in the first inning to take control of the game early. Broken Bow pounded out 12 hits in the game. Blake Denson was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and Carter Johnson was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI to help lead the Bow offense.

The Seniors game was a back and forth affair. With each team scoring a run in the 1st and 2nd innings, Gothenburg was able to take the lead in the fourth when JJ Smith drove in Riley Baker with a 2 out RBI double. Broken Bow would answer though with a big 6th inning. After tying the game at 3 in the 6th, Blake Denson hit a 2 out 2 run double to give Broken Bow the lead 5-3. Gothenburg was then held scoreless in the 7th as the Bow Seniors collected their 4th win of the season.
