Boys Area Sub District Final Results 2/22

Broken Bow fell to Boone Central Newman Grove in the C1-6 boys sub district final on Thursday night in Burwell. Broken Bow fought back from a 16 point halftime deficit to pull to within 5 at 55-50 but the Cardinals would outscore Bow 7-2 to close out the game for a 62-52 victory. Boone Central Newman Grove will play Winnebago Monday for the C1-3 district title. Winnebago defeated Pierce in the C1-5 sub district final 61-51. Broken Bow is 22-3 and will now wait to see if they can qualify for the state tournament as a wildcard.

Arcadia Loup City claimed the C2-9 sub district title Thursday with a 50-39 win over top seeded South Loup. ALC will advance to the C2-5 district championship where they will face Cambridge. Cambridge claimed the C2-10 sub district title with a 62-42 win over Southern Valley. South Loup is now 21-3 and will also play the waiting game to see if qualifying for the state tournament as a wildcard is a possibility.

Ansley/Litchfield saw its season come to an end Thursday night at the D1-10 sub district at Kearney Catholic. Elm Creek defeated the Spartans 68-57 in the sub district title game. Ansley/Litchfield concludes the season at 12-12.

Top seed Riverside knocked off Anselmo-Merna Thursday in the final of the D2-6 sub district at Central Valley in Greeley 68-52. Riverside advances to the D2-3 district championship while AM concludes their season with a record of 12-10.

Defending Class D2 state champion Mullen won the D2-10 sub district title at North Platte St. Pat’s with a 51-36 win over Sandhills/Thedford. The Broncos will now face Wauneta Palisade for the D2-5 district championship on Tuesday. Wauneta Palisade won the D2-9 Sub district with a 74-44 win over Wallace. The Knights finish the season at 9-12.
