Bow Splits a Juniors / Seniors Doubleheader with Gothenburg

Broken Bow hosted Gothenburg Thursday night for a Juniors and Seniors American Legion doubleheader at Paul Brown Field. In the Juniors game, it was decided in the final at bat. The score was tied 3-3 going to the 6th when Gothenburg scored 3 runs to make it 6-3 which would be the score going into Broken Bow’s last at bat in the seventh. In the 7th, Broken Bow scored 4 runs with Caden Holm delivering the walk off RBI hit. For the Bow Juniors it is their 5th win in their last 6 games.

In the Seniors game, Gothenburg held on for an 8-5 win. Gothenburg jumped out to a 5-0 lead with 5 runs in the second inning. Bow would fight back though picking up a run in the 2nd and 3 in the third to make the score 5-4 going to the fourth. Gothenburg picked up a run in the 5th to extend their lead to 6-4. Bow had a chance to answer in their half of the 5th but could not produce after loading the bases with one out. Bow did get a run in the 6th to make it a one run game going to the final inning but Gothenburg would score 2 insurance runs in the 7th and hold on for an 8-5 victory.
