The Broken Bow Spirit White 18U girls softball team traveled to Cozad Thursday for a doubleheader.
Cozad edged Bow in game 1 6-4. The game was scoreless through the first two innings but then the offenses got cranked up. Cozad scored 3 runs in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead but saw Bow respond with 4 runs in the fourth. The Spirit’s lead was short lived however as Cozad scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th to secure the win. Bow finished with 4 runs on 3 hits while Cozad scored 6 runs on 9 hits.
Game two was a well pitched low scoring affair. The two teams exchanged runs in the first two innings with Cozad scoring a run in the first and Bow answering with a run in the second. Cozad scored again in the third to take a 2-1 lead and it stayed that way until the sixth when Cozad scored two more to secure the win 4-1.
The Bow Spirit White team is now 7-8 on the season.
