Area Youth Have Strong Showing at Smallbore Silhouette Invitational

LINCOLN, Neb. – Twelve-year-old Gavin Carrizales shot the first perfect score in history of the Nebraska Youth Smallbore Silhouette Invitational on Sept. 26 at Pressey Wildlife Management Area south of Broken Bow.  The Scottsbluff sixth-grader hit all 40 silhouette targets to win the championship in just his second year of eligibility.

Area youth also had  a strong showing during the invite.  The Anselmo-Merna team of Cort West, Joel Finney, Troy Kirkpatrick, and Seth Chandler won the school division.  Seth Chandler of Anselmo placed first in “Novice Heavy Scope”.  Dylan Glendy of Broken Bow placed second in “Heavy Scope”.  Matthew Daily of Thedford was third in “Light Iron” and Nathan Kastens of Anselmo was third in the “Unclassified”.
