The layout and format for qualifying for the state wrestling tournament in classes B, C, and D this year has changed a bit because of COVID concerns. Rather than having a two day district tournament as in the past, this year the three state classes will split their districts in half and have a sub district tournament which will take place this weekend with the top four wrestlers from each weight class advancing to the district tournament the following week.
Broken Bow will compete in the B4 district this year and will begin at the B4-B sub district tournament which is scheduled for today in Lexington. Joining Broken Bow in today’s sub is Cozad, Holdrege, Lexington, McCook, and Sidney. Broken Bow head wrestling coach Ed Schaaf told KCNI/KBBN sports that even though the layout has changed a bit for state qualifying this year it hasn’t really caused a big change in the way the team prepares.
Here’s where other area teams will compete for sub district.

Burwell at the D2-A sub at Pleasanton Saturday
