Area Teams Appear in OWH Preseason Top Ten High School Football Rankings

The Omaha World Herald has released its preseason rankings for the 2020 high school football season.  Four of the nine teams Broken Bow will face this year make the preseason list.  In Class C1, Kearney Catholic is ranked third, Gothenburg is 8th, and St. Paul is 9th.  Ord, who Broken Bow will play in the fourth week of the season, is ranked #5 in Class C2.  Wahoo is ranked #1 in Class C1 while Oakland Craig is top rated in Class C2.  Dundy  County Stratton is ranked #1 in Class D1 with Burwell ranked #2.  The two met in last year’s semifinals with Burwell winning to advance to the state championship where they finished as the runner-up.  Arcadia/Loup City makes the preseason top ten in Class D1 at #7.  Falls City Sacred Heart begins the season at #1 in Class D2.  The Sandhills/Thedford Knights make the D2 top ten at #8.  The OWH lists Omaha Westside as preseason #1 in Class A, Elkhorn #1 in Class B, and McCool Junction #1 in six-man.
