Winter Weather Advisories Issued for Most of Nebraska

Nebraskans should prepare for another blast of winter weather this week.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all of the state except three counties in extreme southeast Nebraska. The Advisory lasts from six PM Monday through six PM Tuesday. Three panhandle counties are in a winter storm warning through noon Tuesday.

Meteorologists say parts of the panhandle could get as much as six inches of snow… while parts of eastern Nebraska will top out around four inches.

Freezing drizzle might create the most hazardous conditions… with about one-tenth of an inch of ice accumulation expected across most of the state.

Nasty winds could amplify dangers as well, with gusts over 35 miles per hour predicted across the state.
