Two Arrested for Meth Possession North of Columbus

COLUMBUS- Sheriff's records say two local residents were arrested for meth possession late Sunday evening. Platte County Sheriff reports say a call came from Castner's Crossing north of Columbus, at 10:51 p.m. Sunday, for a drug violation report. Following the report, John Garcia and Andrea Rice, of Columbus, were arrested and jailed for possession of Methamphetamine. Garcia was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. A possession of meth charge is a class 4 felony, which carries a maximum sentence of up to 5 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.
