Trump Twitter Target to Campaign in Nebraska

Omaha, NE.—One of President Trump’s newest Twitter targets is scheduled to make a spring-stop in Nebraska, putting Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff squarely in the middle of the Omaha House race. According to a Monday morning Trump Tweet, Schiff— the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee's Trump-Russia investigation—is out of control: News Channel Nebraska has learned that Schiff—a former federal prosecutor—is scheduled to make an April 2 Omaha campaign stop for former Democratic Congressman Brad Ashford, who is running to get his old job back. Ashford says the tweet is “just ludicrous” adding that Schiff is known for his bipartisanship on Capitol Hill. At the same time, Ashford and the man who beat him in 2016—Republican Congressman Don Bacon—are sparring over the release of the so-called “Nunes memo” which Schiff did not want made public. The pair traded Tweets. Ashford opposing release of the memo; Bacon, a retired brigadier general, for it: Late Monday the House Intelligence Committee voted unanimously to release the Democrat's counter memo, authored by Schiff. It is now up to the President to decide if the memo will be declassified. Schiff’s April 2 visit is expected to find him raising money for Ashford who is hoping for a November rematch with Bacon—first though Ashford must survive a May primary battle against fellow Democrat Kara Eastman.
