BROKEN BOW–A local boutique recently partnered for a donation drive with Healing Hearts and Families (HHF) which is an agency dedicated to assisting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
During the last week of January, members of the public were invited to bring in their lightly used household items, clothing, cleaning supplies, and personal care items to Triple Blessed Boutique in Broken Bow to be donated to Healing Hearts & Families. In return, donors were gifted with a Triple Blessed voucher.
HHF provides services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and trafficking along with their families free of charge. All services are focused on the health, safety, and empowerment of those seeking help.
Triple Blessed Boutique owner Jamie Eberle said the drive went well with great response from the community.
“We’ve had a great response from the community. I just kind of wanted to bring awareness to Healing Hearts: all the services they offer for domestic violence and then helping them be able to get donations for these families that need help relocating and whatever they need to start again,” Eberle told KCNI/KBBN.
Healing Hearts & Families Executive Director Suellen Koepke said she was overwhelmed and amazed with the collection.
“We’ve had a couple families take quite a few things. One woman came in needing clothing, shoes for her daughter. They’ve [donations] already been put to very good use,” Koepke told KCNI/KBBN.
Koepke said she is involved with other programs across the state but appreciates the local support of the counties within the service area of HHF. She said volunteers and donors make her proud because through community donations–in addition to funding–they are able to provide services to their clients.
“The community support we receive is so heartwarming,” Koepke added.
As for future donation drives, Koepke said she hopes to partner with Triple Blessed Boutique again.
