Thedford Teen Named Nebraska High School Beef Ambassador

Press Release– At the recently completed Nebraska Cattlemen’s Convention and Trade Show held December 4 to 7 at the Younes Convention Center in Kearney, awards and acknowledgements went to several individuals.

Hannah Pearson, 17-year-old daughter of Wade and Michelle Pearson, was announced as the 2019 Nebraska Cattlewomen Beef Ambassador. Hannah last month was named the 2019 Nebraska Jr. Hereford Association queen.

Hannah, a senior at Thedford High School looks forward to the challenge of promoting Nebraska beef, no matter the breed in the events she will travel to in the coming year.
Gina Hudson, from Nebraska Cattlewomen announced not only Hannah as the High School Beef ambassador, but Devin Jakub as the collegiate ambassador. Jakub is a senior at UNL with goals of becoming a ruminant specialist.

Also at the Nebraska Cattlemen’s convention, Bethany Johnston, UNL Extension educator for the Central Sandhills was awarded a $2000 Nebraska Range and Conservation Endowment award for her work on the grazing app she and others developed called GrassSnap. Aaron Berger received one as well for his grazing land studies. Aaron is the son of Loren and Peggy Berger of Stapleton.
