Suspect in woman’s death is killed in motorcycle crash on Interstate 80 near Mahoney Park exit

The suspect in the death of a woman whose body was found Saturday in a house on South 49th Street died Sunday in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 80, Omaha police said.
Joselyn Serrano-Albayero, 33, was found dead of injuries consistent with a homicide after officers received a 911 call to check on the well-being of the occupants of 5233 S. 49th St. The Cass County Sheriff's Office told Omaha police Sunday that the suspect in Serrano-Albayero's death, Denberth Chavarria, died in the crash on I-80 about two miles west of the Mahoney Park exit.
Before the crash, Omaha police had issued an arrest warrant for Chavarria, 47, on charges of first-degree murder. Investigators said they do not think that anyone else was involved in Serrano-Albayero's slaying.
Serrano-Albayero's two children, ages 2 and 9, also were found in the home Saturday. The children, who were uninjured, were placed in protective custody.
