ANSLEY—More than 30 community members helped celebrate the open house for SunValley Landscaping, LLC in Ansley last week. A ribbon cutting was held to welcome the addition of a 3,000-square-foot greenhouse. With spring close at hand, owner Chas Berke is gearing up for the season by offering a range of products and services for landscaping and gardening.
Berke enjoys the hard work of creating beautiful outdoor landscapes. She graduated from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture and has been serving central Nebraska for 10 years.
“Well, when you turn around and look at what you’ve done, all that hard labor makes it worth it,” Berke said.
SunValley Landscaping offers property maintenance, landscaping and hardscaping services such as installation, mulching, pruning, landscape bed cleanup, retaining walls, pathways, and patios. In addition, the new greenhouse features annuals and perennials, grasses, vegetables, hanging baskets, and trees/shrubs.
Berke said she hopes to open additional greenhouses at SunValley and says her work, educating others about landscaping, and using quality plants and products is her passion.
“You want to plant top quality, makes a big difference,” she said.
SunValley Landscaping, LLC is located at 521 W Railway Street in Ansley, off of Highway 2 and east of the fire hall.
“It came because, well, I like being outside and doing all that stuff. I didn’t really have a location to install a greenhouse that would be easily accessible, for me here, this is a great location,” Berke said.
Memorial baskets and pottery are also available at the greenhouse. Berke said to be available during the spring and summer seasons, SunValley will be open Monday –Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
