Storm Rages Through Northeast Nebraska

CLEARWATER - A severe thunderstorm raged its way through northeast Nebraska, causing heavy damage throughout the area. At 8:34 Friday evening, the National Weather Service reported severe storms in northeastern Nebraska, causing seventy mile per hour winds, and hail up to two inches in diameter. Heavy tree damage, power outages, and blown over road signs were reported in multiple areas of the state. The towns of Clearwater and Battle Creek were among the affected areas, with heavy wind gusts causing severe tree damage, as well as heavy rains causing standing water over entire streets. According to the National Weather Service, total rainfall for the duration of the storm ranged anywhere from one to three inches.
