Omaha, NE.—In an unexpected development, the state has cleared Children’s Hospital in Omaha of any wrongdoing involving charges of poor patient care by one of its doctors.
According to a letter from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, three major allegations were investigated and “none… were substantiated” during a recent surprise visit.
The hospital is accused of failing to provide quality medical care, looking the other way when a physician failed to follow medical guidelines and ignoring a doctor’s character and competence during the hiring process.
According to a lawsuit filed against the hospital, Children’s suspended two surgeons after they complained to the administration that a third surgeon’s poor decisions led to the death of a 7-month-old during a recent operation.
Children’s has not commented on the specifics in the lawsuit but did say the allegations are not true.
Once again, the state is standing with the hospital.
