Sprague Home Destroyed in Overnight Fire

SPRAGUE, Neb. (KOLN) - Fire crews say no one was hurt in an overnight mobile home fire in Sprague, but the structure is a total loss. The call came in around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday night regarding the fire north of 3rd and Market Street. The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said one of the five adults living in the home smelled smoke and spotted flames coming from the furnace area. The man alerted other people living in the home, and everyone got out safely. The double-wide mobile home was a total loss, as was a detached building nearby. Total loss between the two structures is estimated at $120,000, and included a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fire crews from Southwest Rural, Crete, Hickman and Hallam were all called in to help.
