In the midst of the Broken Bow Public Schools ongoing budget discussion, an affidavit for recalling two school board members was filed on June 26 by Drew Schendt. Weeks later, petitions were circulated by volunteers, collecting signatures of those in favor of recalling board members J.B. Atkins and Carl French.
Enough signatures were verified by County Clerk Constance Gracey and it looks like a recall election is on the horizon. According to Gracey, notifications were sent out on Tuesday to Atkins and French.
No date has been set for the special election, but it will beheld in no more than 75 days.
