On Thursday morning, the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce helped celebrate yet another ribbon cutting in town for CARQUEST Auto Parts and Custer Electric and Irrigation. Both businesses have moved into their new location at 2051 South E Street in Broken Bow (in the old Titan Machinery building). Each business has been adjusting to their new space, which is in a visible location off of Highway 2. CARQUEST Manager Louis Maring said the moving process took about three months to plan and with the help of CARQUEST support, the move to a larger space took only about four days. “The show room grew quite significantly, you know, and we’re still changing some stuff, bringing some stuff in, and sending some stuff back,” Maring said as he and the rest of the staff get settled. Katie Fick with Custer Electric and Irrigation said they love the new sign and prominent location. “So far we really like it. We were working out at a temporary place and then our vehicles. So the new building is definitely a huge upgrade and we’re loving it,” Fick said. Fick also discussed the services offered. “We’ve got the two sides: we’ve got the irrigation and we’ve got the electrical. Our electrician is a licensed contractor-he can do ag, commercial, and residential electrical work. And then our pivot guy-we are a Zimmatic dealer so we can sell Zimmatic brand pivots and any of the parts and services that go along with that. But he also maintenances all brands of electric pivots,” she said. Stay tuned for coverage on future ribbon cuttings and ground breaking ceremonies as we continue to watch our community grow.
