NORFOLK — A woman is in the hospital after getting hit by a vehicle in downtown Norfolk on Thursday.
Emergency personnel responded to the intersection of 4th Street and Norfolk Avenue just before noon. According to Norfolk Police Captain Michael Bauer, a silver southboud pickup attempted to make a left turn to head east onto Norfolk Avenue. The truck struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street heading north. She was transported to Faith Regional Health Services by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
This is the third vehicle to pedestrian accident, and the fourth injury, in downtown Norfolk in the last nine days. A sedan struck a Coleridge couple west of 7th and Norfolk Avenue on Saturday. The two later died from their injuries.
A vehicle hit a pedestrian near 4th and Norfolk during the Christmas Festival on Tuesday, November 21st.
Today’s accident is still under investigation.
