Over $7,000 & 4,500 items Donated During Adams Land & Cattle’s Food 4 Youth Challenge
Over 4,500 food items were donated by the Custer County community to benefit local backpack programs.

BROKEN BOW–Adams Land and Cattle (ALCC) is proud to announce that through the support of their second annual Food 4 Youth campaign, they were able to donate $7,020 and over 4,500 items to Custer County backpack programs, which provide food and other needed items to send home with students. The Food 4 Youth Challenge, held September 21- October 5, was open to area businesses, schools, and civic organizations.

In all, 22 Custer County businesses and organizations participated, collecting 4,503 snacks and meals for the Custer County backpack programs, which help provide food for their students, who may not know when their next meal will be.

Additionally, Adams Land and Cattle encouraged monetary donations to support the programs through the Food 4 Youth fund administered by the Custer County Foundation. The total received by the end of the challenge was $7,020 which will be evenly distributed between all of the programs to support their future needs.

Businesses that participated include: Adams Land and Cattle, Anselmo-Merna Schools, BD, Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce, Broken Bow Lions Club, Bruning Bank, Custer County Foundation, Evans Feed, Farm Credit Services of America, First Presbyterian Church of Broken Bow, Grocery Kart, Lillie Kate Boutique, Melham Medical Center, Nebraska Integral Wellness, Nebraska State Bank, North Park Elementary – Broken Bow, Off Broadway Assisted & Independent Living, Precious Angels Daycare, Russell Title & Escrow, Sargent Irrigation, Drilling, and Pipe, Steffens Law Office, Thomas Livestock, and Triple Blessed Boutique.

“We would like to thank Custer County for making our second Food 4 Youth challenge a success and helping ensure that the youth of Custer County have nutritious meals at the end of the day,” said Liz Babcock, Director of Communications for ALCC. “All of us at Adams Land & Cattle are incredibly grateful and amazed by the response from the community and our neighbor businesses and organizations to support our local schools’ backpack programs.”
