Optical Illusion Takes Over Internet

NORFOLK - An image of a shoe won the internet on Friday. Some people see a gray shoe with teal laces and trim while some see a pink shoe with white laces and trim. It is unclear for sure which color is correct, but it is clear that nothing is wrong with your eyes no matter which version you see. The Omaha World Herald interviewed UNMC Ophthalmology professor Wally Thoreson who said how you perceive the color around the shoe determines what color you see it as. The pink shoe group sees a blue light in the background, while the gray bunch sees a white light. From the OWH story: “We see it as one or the other, not in between,” Thoreson said. “The brain has to sort of choose. I think people are surprised that what they see is not necessarily what their neighbor sees.” For what it's worth, an unofficial poll of the US92/NCN office was split 4-4.
