BROKEN BOW–The 57th annual One Box events are in full swing as of Friday morning. Board member Mike Evans told KCNI/KBBN that this year’s 35 new shooters arrived on Thursday evening for the land owner appreciation event.

The One Box Trap Shooting range hosted Friday morning’s trap shooting and sporting clay events. Today’s scores also factor into the overall scores for each team, according to Evans. In addition to the seven new teams, there are also about 50 past shooters participating at this year’s events, thanks to the help of countless volunteers.

When all is said and done, Evans said that the goal of the weekend is to “create habitat and give scholarships to area youth.”

A Colorado man has traveled to Broken Bow for the last 30 years to participate in the annual festivities. Anthony said he enjoys the social aspect just as much as the shooting events.

“The camaraderie and the fellowship is something that’s unsurpassable here. The community of Broken Bow is an outstanding community. [I] love the people here and we always feels so welcome,” Anthony said.

He went on to thank the community for supporting One Box.
