NU Budget Concerns

Omaha, NE.—One week from today, Nebraska lawmakers go back to work and one key issue will be Medicaid expansion, specifically how to pay for it.

The governor has already said he won’t raise taxes and has also said the necessary Medicaid money, an estimated 40 to 60 million dollars, will most likely come out of education or other state services.

The University of Nebraska is concerned that a lack of additional state money could put its budget in jeopardy.
