Norfolk Man Heads to Prison for Wire Fraud Conviction

LINCOLN - A Norfolk man will be getting prison time after his wire fraud conviction. Forty-seven year old Bradley Leffers was sentenced in U.S. District Court Thursday to two years in prison. Leffers was convicted of fraud after an F.B.I. investigation into his business, Rocklin Steel. Federal authorities say Leffers offered his business' services to farmers and ranchers through advertisements saying he could construct metal buildings. Investigators say Leffers would accept down payment from clients, then ask for more money without doing any work. The payments were wired directly into his bank account. While Leffers did construct some buildings, authorities say there were numerous properties where Leffers never did any work, despite having received payments. Leffers scammed money from farmers and ranchers in both Nebraska and Kansas. Leffers had already served time in prison in Nebraska in 2016 for felony theft cases in Holt and Washington Counties. In addition to his prison sentence, Leffers also must pay over $710,000 in restitution.
