Norfolk Man Gets Prison for December Stabbing

MADISON - It will be prison time for a Norfolk man convicted of stabbing another man this past winter. Twenty-year old Johny Peralta-Cardona was sentenced to six to eight years in prison in Madison County District Court on Friday. Peralta-Cardona was arrested in December after authorities say he stabbed another man in the abdomen outside a downtown Norfolk business. Court documents state the dispute began because of an argument over whose turn it was to do the dishes. Peralta-Cardona's attorney, Chelsea Hartner, argued in court that the victim repeatedly bullied Peralta-Cardona, and that Peralta-Cardona had been drinking heavily the night of the stabbing. But District Court Judge Mark Johnson said Peralta-Cardona had shown no remorse for his actions since the stabbing happened. The victim survived his stab wound.
