Norfolk Man Arrested For Felony Domestic Assault

NORFOLK - A Norfolk man faces a felony assault charge after an incident on Wednesday night. Norfolk Police Captain Michael Bauer says police were called to a disturbance in the 100 block of Gold Strike Drive at 9:21 p.m. Wednesday after a neighbor reported screaming coming from an adjacent apartment and a woman yelling for help. When officers arrived, they had initial difficulty entering the apartment as there was a chair against the door and numerous items spread out on the floor. A woman inside the apartment said she had been pushed against a wall and had her hair pulled. Officers made contact with 52-year old Charles R. Jordan, who was intoxicated and uncooperative with police and attempted to leave. Jordan was arrested on a 3rd degree domestic felony assault charge in addition to obstruction. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
