No Arrests After Social Media Speculation Over Suspicious Van

NORFOLK - Norfolk Police are clearing the air after a white van caused a social media frenzy on Monday. Norfolk Police Captain Michael Bauer says officers responded to numerous reports on social media of a white van parked along 3rd Street taking videos of children. Captain Bauer says officers were able to find the van, which had two people in it. Bauer says officers were able to verify the identity of both occupants, as well as the license plate of the van they were in. Officers searched two different cell phones, neither of which turned up any videos. Captain Bauer says while Monday's situation may have been a false alarm, he appreciates residents' diligence in reporting suspicious activity, and encourages them to do so again in the future.
