A one-vehicle accident near Sargent on New Year’s Day resulted in the sole occupant being transported to the hospital.
According to the accident report from the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year old Alexis Kaye Digrigoli of Bennett, CO, was traveling westbound in a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage, on the Sargent/Victoria Springs Road approximately two miles from Sargent, when she lost control of the vehicle on the ice and snow-covered road.
The report states that when she lost control, the Mirage crossed the centerline to the south, left the roadway and entered the south ditch and rolled onto its right side.
Digrigoli was transported to Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center with unknown injuries. Most of the damage to the vehicle is documented to be on the passenger side of the vehicle with damages estimated at $5,000.
