NEBRASKA – When it comes to flu activity there may not be a state busier than Nebraska.
According to the Walgreens Flu Index, Nebraska as a whole ranked number one for flu activity in the nation for the week ending January 19th.
The rankings are compiled based on the drugstore chain’s weekly retail prescription data for the medications used to treat influenza.
According to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Nebraska was among 36 states reporting widespread flu activity for that same week. It was also among seven states reporting the highest levels of influenza-like illness.
