NDOT Gears up For Spring Blizzard

LINCOLN - The Nebraska Department of Transportation says they are geared up and ready to go for this weekends predicted blizzard. Officials say crew members are prepped and will be monitoring the changing conditions.
“This spring storm looks to have significant impact on a majority of the state this weekend,” said NDOT Director Kyle Schneweis. “As always, drivers should be prepared and plan ahead for weekend travel. Crews will be clearing roadways as conditions allow but we urge drivers to take caution before leaving home and know before you go.” Motorists are being encouraged to stay up to date with the latest road conditions before deciding to travel. The NDOT says surfaces will be slick under the snow, and blowing winds will cause poor visibility, so travel may be slow. Officials also ask drivers to be cautious and courteous with snow plows operating through out the cleanup. Motorists should slow down when approaching plows and travel a 25-30 miles per hour or less, says the NDOT.
