Mayor Proclaims March as “Problem Gambling Awareness Month”

BROKEN BOW—“It is important to raise awareness of the warning signs of compulsive gamblers and connect them with professional help,” Mayor Cecil Burt read during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

The mayor also read that compulsive gambling is often hidden from family members and can occur in combination with other disorders. Therefore, he declared March 2018 as Problem Gambling Awareness Month. (Click here to see the proclamation.)

Following the proclamation, the council held a public hearing for Ordinance 1178 Mayor and Council Wages and City Clerk Stephanie Wright read the second reading.
