COLUMBUS - A man who tripped over a couch, while running from police was found guilty of meth possession and obstructing police.
Court records say Jorge Santos Jr., 27, of Columbus, plead no contest to both charges, and will be sentenced on March 16th. Santos ran from police back in September, when they attempted to stop him for an active warrant, says records.
Police say Santos was running from them when he attempted to jump over a couch in a driveway, and failed to clear it. Santos was seen placing a baggie of methamphetamine in the couch that he failed to jump over, says an affidavit.
Santos faces a maximum sentence of 3 years in prison with no minimum sentence.
