Man Faces Felony After Pawning Hand Gun

COLUMBUS - A convicted felon is facing a new felony charge, after he pawned his handgun at a local shop, says an affidavit. Court records say Scott Svoboda, 58, was convicted of felony robbery and setting fire in Butler County back in 1977. A Columbus Police Officer says on January 9th, they found Svoboda had pawned a Browning Buck Mark .22 Caliber handgun at a local shop, sometime in December. Svoboda is facing a charge of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, a charge that carries a a maximum sentence of 50 years, and a minimum of 3 years. Svoboda has a warrant out for his arrest, says court records.
