Lightning Strike Starts House Fire

NORFOLK - A lightning bolt struck a house and started a fire Friday night, say police. Norfolk Fire crews were sent to 55017 837th Road at 3:51 a.m to assist Battle Creek Fire and Rescue. No one was home at the time of the fire which fully engulfed the house. A lightning strike was determined to be the cause of the fire. Norfolk fire responded with five vehicles, and both the Madison County Sheriff's office and Elkhorn Rural Public Power assisted at the location. No injuries were reported
