LBPHD COVID-19 Update: 37 New Cases, 19 Recoveries, 151 Active Cases

LBPHD: Thirty-seven new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the nine counties of Loup Basin’s district since Friday.

The cases were reported from:
Custer (12) – community spread (4), contact with positive (7), unknown due to inability to complete interview (1)
Sherman (11) – community spread (3), contact with positive (7), travel out of state (1)
Howard (10)- community spread (6), contact with positive (4)
Valley (2)- community spread (1), contact with positive (1)
Blaine (1)-
community spread (1)
Wheeler (1)- community spread (1)

All known close contacts have been asked to quarantine.

Nineteen additional recoveries have also been reported.

LBPHD announcement: Loup Basin Public Health Department would like to inform the public that as case counts increase exponentially, some cases may be handed over to contracted Department of Health and Human Services contact tracers. The goal of contact tracing is quick and efficient follow up so that all close contacts can be identified and quarantined to slow the spread of COVID-19.

LBPHD wants to remind patrons that if you have tested positive for COVID-19 it is important to answer the phone if a number is calling you that you may not recognize. The person calling may likely be a contact tracer who will perform a brief interview with you to identify others who may have been exposed to COVID-19. It is important to be forthcoming with information so that together we can slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.
