Juvenile Injured In Rollover Accident Last Weekend

A rollover accident sent the juvenile driver to the hospital with suspected minor injuries.

According to the accident report from the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, on January 23 at approximately 2:40 PM a16-year-old driver was traveling north in a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer approximately 5.5 miles north of Callaway on Fairview Drive when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The report states the vehicle entered the west ditch and rolled down the embankment of the ditch coming to rest on its top.

After the driver exited the vehicle the Mountaineer was turned upright by the family of the driver. The juvenile was taken to the Callaway District Hospital by a third party with suspected minor injuries to the driver’s upper extremities.

The vehicle was listed as totaled. Airbags were deployed in the front of the vehicle and a seatbelt was used properly. The cause of the accident is unknown. Speed is listed as not a factor in the accident.
