Highway 75 pursuit lands Nebraska City pair in jail

PLATTSMOUTH – Sheriff William Brueggemann reports a Saturday vehicle pursuit that resulted in the arrest of two Nebraska City residents. A sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a pickup truck on Highway 75 near Church Road, but reported that the driver continued northbound, passing other vehicles on the highway shoulder. Speeds reached 100 miles per hour and the deputy discontinued the pursuit because of traffic volumes. Plattsmouth police located the pickup on Oakmont Drive. 22-year-old Trace Schmitz and 21-year-old Bronwyn Bostwick were taken into custody. A Plattsmouth motorist reported that he was forced off the roadway because of the erratic driving. Trace is suspected of flight to avoid arrest and willful reckless driving. Bostwick is suspected of false reporting and possession of a controlled substance.
