AUBURN – An Auburn man is charged with 13 counts of burglary and the theft of over $13,000 in metal alloys.
26-year-old Justin Heard is suspected of stealing brass from Magnolia Metal in rural Auburn on 11 occasions from Aug. 11 to Dec. 1.
Court records say deputies were called Nov. 30 to review surveillance video.
An arrest affidavit says video shows Heard, a Magnolia Metal employee, loading brass into a vehicle and leaving the property.
Investigators suspect that Heard received payments of$13,878 for the metal at Alter Recycling in Council Bluffs.
Magnolia Metal, which has a foundry in Auburn, reports a loss of metal valued over $22,000.
