BROKEN BOW—Seeds of change have bloomed into a successful new beginning at the Garden Center.
The Garden Center, formally the Custer County Garden Center owned by Ray and Connie Squier, is under the ownership of Ryan and Liz Anderson. The young couple took over at the beginning of 2018 and they now look forward to the growing season.
A ribbon cutting and open house was attended by many on Monday to celebrate Ryan and Liz, who said this adventure has been a dream for a couple years and when the opportunity presented itself, the Andersons took the leap.
“It means a lot; definitely, to have this many community people come out. The support has been a little overwhelming; it’s just good to feel that,” Ryan said.
The Garden Center provides local residents the opportunity to shop for quality products for gardens and landscaping. Porch pots, hanging baskets, trees, perennials, seeds, décor, outdoor tools, and so much more are available at the Broken Bow based business
(500 Thelma Street).
Ryan and Liz said their grandparents and parents had an influence in their love of outdoor projects and gardening. The couple enjoys gardening and canning their own produce. Liz said she looks forward to working with people to help make their visions become a reality.
“Selling quality plants, something people can take and enjoy, seeing everybody’s ideas,” Ryan and Liz said when asked what they look forward to as business owners.
Former owner Ray Squier said he and Connie look forward to going home at the end of the work day and to continue helping customers shop for their favorite foliage.
Hoping to share more opportunities and products for your outdoor needs, the Garden Center has expanded its hours and is now operating under spring/summer hours: Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12-5 p.m.
