Flooding impacting Knox and Pierce counties
Courtest: Knox County Sheriff's Department
CENTER -- Flooding has started to impact northeast Nebraska as another round of snow and rain moves through the area. The Knox County Sheriff's Department has closed Road 531 Ave at the intersection of 531 Ave & 889 Rd due to flooding waters over 531 Ave. Highway 12 is also closed west of the junction of Highway 12 and Spur 54D. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning  for the Ponca Creek at Verdel affecting Knox County and for the  north fork of the Elkhorn River near Pierce affecting Pierce County. The NWS reminds motorists not to drive cars through areas where water covers the road. The water depth may be too great to allow your vehicle to pass safely. Turn around...don't drown.
