Fairbury FFA “Humbled” By Their Experience at State Fair

FAIRBURY - Fairbury FFA Advisor Thomas Dux says he's proud of the students who participated in the Nebraska State Fair. Dux says, "A lot of hard work goes into the State Fair. Instead of the County Fair - which our fair is usually around July, this is a whole extra month that they have to prepare their animals. So, a lot of hard work, and they did pretty well. Maybe didn't do as well as some of them would have liked. But, I thought they did a pretty good job." Fairbury FFA member Kaylee Sipek tells News Channel Nebraska that although she placed last in one of her classes, the experience "humbled" her and she kept a smile on her face in front of the judges. Dux concluded, "The facilities out there are just phenomenal. I mean, they are just amazing. I think it's cool just to be able to show up there for students. I know that when I showed animals, I mean - the facilities up in Lincoln were alright, but nothing like they are up in Grand Island. So it's just kind of a cool experience to be there."
