ARNOLD--At 6:41 a.m. on Tuesday an earthquake registering 3.7 on the Richter scale occurred approximately four miles southeast of Arnold, according to a press release from Custer County Emergency Manager Mark D. Rempe. The quake occurred five kilometers from the surface and was registered by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The USGS office in Golden, Colorado advised that there are likely to be aftershocks but most commonly these are not big enough to be felt. The USGS office also stated that there is no cause for concern.
Rempe said after speaking with the Arnold Fire Chief, there have been no damages or injuries at this time.
