Early Morning Storm Damage Blocked Hwy 30 Traffic

CENTRAL CITY - The early morning storm that passed through east-central Nebraska, caused the closure of Highway 30 for a short period of time. The Merrick County Sheriff's Office says Highway 30 was closed down during the early morning hours on Friday, because a storm knocked over a large tree at 14th and 13th Avenues in Central City. The sheriff's office asked local motorists to take alternate routes while the city worked to clear the tree from the road. The highway opened back up at roughly 2:18 a.m. Friday, with the Central City Police, sheriff's office, and Central City Street Department all working the scene during the early morning hours.
