Congratulations to Noah Osmond, Jonathan (JR) Schaaf, and Rayelee Smith on being selected to receive the Don Davis Early Entry Access Scholarship this fall! Noah Osmond is the son of Tom & Kristie Osmond, Jonathan (JR) Schaaf is the son of Ed and Jennifer Schaaf, and Rayelee Smith is the daughter of Chris & Betsy Smith.  This scholarship will be used for the class they are enrolled in this fall at Mid-Plains Community College – Broken Bow Campus.

Three scholarships were available this semester through the Don Davis Early Entry Access Scholarship fund administered by the Custer County Foundation.  Broken Bow High School students currently enrolled in the Early Entry Access Program at Mid-Plains Community College – Broken Bow Campus are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Students eligible to receive the ACE Scholarship are not eligible for the Davis Scholarship.

The Davis family wrote a note to add their congratulations the recipients.  They noted that the Don Davis scholarship fund at the Custer County Foundation is now just over halfway to the $80,000 needed to make it a perpetual award that will allow a larger number of students to receive the scholarship each semester.

The Davis family stated, “We thank all who are helping us ensure that local students are starting their post-secondary education on equal footing with students from across the state.  To date, 8 percent of donations to this scholarship have come from people living in Custer County.  Donations from elsewhere account for 92 percent. “
