Delivered Lunches Give Harvesters a Break

When in the thick of harvest, lunch sometimes becomes an added task for hard working harvesters. Rod Palmer is looking to curb that. At his Beaver Bearing storefront in Broken Bow leading up to harvest, Rod encouraged his customers to enter to win an appreciative meal that would be delivered to them right in the field.

Recent weather prevented area farmers from getting into their fields in a timely fashion, but the recent streak of good weather has beans and corn disappearing quickly. Rod delivered the first meal of many from the Schmick’s Market deli to the Schweitzer farm this week, complete with potato salad, coleslaw, roll, and fried chicken. He’s proud of what the harvester’s lunch promotion has become and looks forward to thanking many more for their hard work this season.
