WEST POINT, NE (News Channel Nebraska) – The murder trial of an Oakland man begins Monday.
Jury selection is underway in the murder trial of 29-year old Derek Olson in Cuming County District Court. Olson is accused of murder and arson in the stabbing death of Ernest Warnock at his rural Bancroft home in the fall of 2017.
Olson’s father Jody was a co-defendant in the case until he pleaded guilty in December. Jody is expected to be one of the witnesses that will testify against his son. Cuming County court officials have said that jury selection could run into Tuesday. Two weeks have been set aside for the trial.
