BROKEN BOW—Boys and girls from kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to the Cub Scout Pack 23 Fall Recruitment Fishing Event on Tuesday, July 30.

From 5-8 p.m. on July 30 hot dogs will be served and fishing will be available at Melham Park in Broken Bow. Cubmaster Logan Govier told KCNI/KBBN that the Nebraska Games and Parks fishing trailer will return to Broken Bow for Cub Scouts to use during the evening. All equipment and instruction will be provided. (Click here to view the Facebook event.)

Three Cub Scouts visited on the Get Up and Go Breakfast Show last week and said they love to fish for catfish, bass, and bluegill. The boys also said they love hanging out together, camping, and learning to build fires.

“When I went to scout camp we were put together with a different pack because it was only my mom and me so we were with another pack and they showed us how to use flint and steel to start fires,” Brent Forster said.

Pack 23 will have a booth during the Custer County Fair for anyone wanting to learn more about Cub Scouts. You can also contact Logan Govier if you have any questions by calling 308-880-0323 or emailing at [email protected].
