CPPD To Begin Transmission Pole Inspection Beginning Next Week Through October

As part of Custer Public Power District’s continued commitment to provide the most reliable service possible, CPPD will be contracting with SBS Inspection, Inc. to inspect approximately 7,000 distribution poles.

It has been proven that this pole- treating program has helped to find the weak links in the District’s distribution & transmission system, which has resulted in fewer outages. The testing this year will mark over twenty–five years of this type of preventative practice. They will be testing distribution poles in the Bartak, Merna, Ortello and Stop Table Substation areas July through October.

This will include the town of Merna. They will also be testing approximately 1,000 transmission poles between the Callaway to Arnold Substations, Callaway to Oconto Substations, and Callaway to Stop Table Substations. Customers may notice the service vehicles of the contractors, including pickups or ATVs, in pastures and fields as they treat and inspect poles.

The workmen have been instructed to respect the customer’s property and fences and to reclose gates when they find them closed. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Jason Chaplin at 888-749-2453 or 308-872-2451.
