MERNA–Anselmo-Merna Public Schools has announced that recent graduate Logan Maring died on Wednesday evening. Details regarding Maring’s death are not available at this time.

A Crisis Team, counselors, and local resources will be available today (Thursday, May 23) for students and community members from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the main gym.

A letter from Superintendent Logan Lightfoot read, “Logan’s death will be tough for both our students, as well as adults. Our staff would like to offer support to our students, parents, and communities.”

The main gym will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. today for anyone in need of support, or just a place to be with friends and loved ones. All who are struggling with Logan’s death are encouraged to come to the school today.

Lightfoot continued the letter by saying, “Our hearts hurt for Logan’s family. That being said, the strength of our communities lies in our love for each other. We’ll support the Marings as they grieve, and we will also support each other. We can’t control nor predict tragedies, but we can walk beside one another through our grief.”
